Pastor's Letter
August 1, 2008
Dear Church Family of Wyebrook,
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to all you leaders and workers of Vacation Bible School. In whatever way you helped or prepared to make it happen. Your efforts are greatly appreciated. A special thanks to Brother John and Sister Stacey Merroth for their leadership in putting “Fiesta” together.
Many of you have already taken your vacation, some of you are going to do so soon but one thing is for sure every one of us needs a little time off. In Matthew 14:23 scripture tells us, “And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray.” Jesus needed a break, if Jesus the Son of the Living God needed a break surely you and I do from time to time. Enjoy your vacation you need it.
As we mentioned in weeks gone by our collection of items for the children’s home in Honduras of which Brother David Perryman is the director will be coming to pass the month of August. We will give you a specific date when we hear from Brother David. When I last talked with him he said it would be the 2nd or 3rd Saturday in August he would be coming with the big truck to pick the items up. Please store them at your home and we will let you know soon when to bring them in.
On another note I’m saddened by the resignation of Brother Skip Briggs as deacon. Brother Skip has had to change jobs recently and feels his commitment to the church is not what it should be with being on call as his maintenance job requires. He has been a faithful servant here and will continue to be a part of Wyebrook as much as he can. Thank you Skip, we appreciated your service.
As you continue to pray and support our church may we be sensitive to the needs around us in such a way that we step up to the plate when we have the opportunity to do something within the ministry here for our Lord and others.
Serving the Lord and you, dependent upon the Master,
Pastor Perry
